Searching for a credit repair company in Texas? The industry has excellent firms and outright scams, and Texas law makes it easy to tell them apart — if you know what to check. Here is the five-point test we invite you to run on any company, including us.
The 5-point legitimacy checklist
- 1. Texas Secretary of State registration. Texas Finance Code Chapter 393 requires every credit services organization to register with the state. Verify the registration — Best Texas Credit Pros, LLC is registered.
- 2. Surety bond on file. Chapter 393 also requires a bond that protects consumers. Ours is bond no. 4580580.
- 3. CROA compliance. Federal law requires a written contract, a 3-business-day right to cancel, and no charges before services are performed. If a company wants a big payment up front, walk away.
- 4. Real offices and real people. We operate from 1751 River Run, Suite 200, Fort Worth, with offices at 13101 Preston Rd, Dallas and 2600 South Shore Blvd, League City.
- 5. Verifiable reviews. Read real client reviews — ours average 4.9 stars on Google. See our reviews and testimonials.
Red flags that mean run
- “Guaranteed” deletions or a guaranteed score increase — illegal to promise.
- A “new credit identity” or CPN number — that is federal fraud, not credit repair.
- Payment demanded before any work is done.
- No written contract, or pressure to skip reading it.
